Customer feedback and product data showed that developers, particularly those implementing Lottie for the first time, struggled to turn animation assets into production-ready implementations. Technical details, requirements, and setup guidance were spread across several places, creating friction between receiving an asset and shipping it.
The project began as an early idea rather than a defined solution. I worked directly with the Head of Product to clarify the problem, explore possible directions, and shape the concept. I built an AI-assisted proof of concept for a focused, full-page handoff experience, using it to align the team before developing the direction into high-fidelity design.
I designed the handoff as a context-aware workflow that brought asset details, technical specifications, setup instructions, and ready-to-use code into one workspace, adapting the guidance to the developer’s selected platform, framework, player, and animation features. I owned the UX and UI, worked closely with Engineering throughout implementation, and conducted design QA before rollout.
Why it mattered
Developers needed a clearer path from receiving an animation to implementing it correctly. Generic documentation still left them to interpret asset requirements and determine which instructions applied to their stack.
Key decision
Instead of sending developers to generic documentation, I designed a dynamic integration guide that adapted setup steps and code to the selected platform, framework, player, and animation features.
Outcome
The experience entered a phased A/B rollout with a small group of users, allowing the team to validate whether the new handoff flow reduced implementation friction before expanding availability.

What scaled
The dynamic guide established a reusable structure for tailoring implementation support across platforms, frameworks, players, and animation features. New development stacks could be added without creating a separate handoff flow for each setup.
